GOOD STUFF

GOOD YARD STUDIO is based on the historic site of Heaton Norris train station. The station was demolished in 1957 and our studio is located (we think) on what was the goods yard.

Backing onto the railway, the site is now home to a long rectangular building with a sizeable and (dare we say) pretty good yard.

The building has been subdivided into a wood workshop, individual craft studios, a shared kitchen, and a beautiful communal space that looks out onto the yard.

Our studio is home to 5 professional craftspeople working across a variety of disciplines

Our ethos

We exist to offer professional studio space and a collaborative environment to working craftspeople and to improve access to craft education in our neighbourhood.

We aim to offer high-quality craft courses and workshops to the public and opportunities for continuing professional development to other craft practitioners.

Teaching and event space

At the centre of our studio is a shared space that hosts all of our public activities: workshops, courses, events, and exhibitions.

Take a look at what we have coming up, or get in touch if you would like to hire the space to run your own course or event.
